"Well, I am an avid reader.  My favorite genre is mystery/suspense, both for reading and for writing.  So many of the books that I've read lately have left me with a very bad taste in my mouth.  The hero turns out to be not much of a hero.  I've read about cops stealing drugs or drug money from the evidence room, Some are having affairs with witnesses, abusing prostitutes, you name it, these "heroes' have done it. 

Not so in my books.  My heroes are true heroes.  I guess it all dates back to my childhood days when my siblings and I would go to the Saturday matinee at the local movie theater.  These were mostly western movies where the good guys always won.  The bad guys always wore black hats and the good guys wore white hats.  That is how I write.  This is what inspired my apparel." -Elsie Varn Harrell
